ENGINEERING SAFE, EFFICIENT BUILDINGS

Senior Contracts Manager for Fire Protection

When did you start at Thermotech:

2010

Brief description of your responsibilities at Thermotech:

I work in the fire protection and I do sales, estimating, design, relationship management – well a bit of everything really!

Brief history of career:

I have always worked in fire sprinklers, I started off at Atlas in Swansea as a draughtsman, then moved on to Crownhouse where I headed up their sprinkler division. I moved to Bristol to head up DIS Sprinklers which I built up for 20 years. After that I took on more of a consultative/freelance style of work, I worked for Hall & Kay and Balfour Beatty before joining Thermotech Fire Protection.

What do you love most about your job at Thermotech?

I love the industry I work in – I was on the board of BAFSA and on the Expert Panel for the LPCB for many, many years, sharing my experience and knowledge, which I now use in my job here at Thermotech.

Where would we find you on a Sunday afternoon?

I am a workaholic so I rarely get free time, but when I do, I love to play a bit of golf. My wife and I have a home in Spain and which we we like to escape to a few times a year at least!

What are you most proud of?

I have two wonderful children, and three lovely grandchildren. My eldest grandchild just finished his GCSEs and achieved 11 top grades and an AS level which I am very proud of. I am also proud of my wife, who does good (but hard) work as the head of a care home. Finally, I’m proud of the work we’ve done here at Thermotech, building up relationships and completing successful projects, growing and going from strength to strength. I’m proud to be part of that.
