Our charity work

CAFTLogo

Our nominated charity is The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust.
This wonderful organisation provides holidays and activities for terminally ill, chronically sick, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over the country on their 17th Century farmhouse set in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.
The needs of the children visiting The Adventure Farm range from complex and severe physical and learning disabilities, sensory impairments and terminal illnesses through to children who act as Carers for a family member, those dealing with bereavement and children who have been victims of abuse.
The Thermotech team raise money for CAFT by taking part in sporting events such as sponsored bike rides and charity golf days.

Single Sprinkler on a pipe - Thermotech fire protection

Do I need a fire sprinkler system? Do I have to have a fire sprinkler system?

The rules and legislation around fire sprinkler systems vary from country to country, and in the US, from state to state.
In Wales, after April 2014 all new and refurbished residential care homes, HMOs (homes in multiple occupation) and hostels (as well as certain other types of premises) will have to be fitted with an approved fire suppression system. From 1st January 2016 all new and converted single family dwellings including houses and flats will also have to be protected with approved automatic fire suppression systems.
In England and Scotland, no legislation exists at the moment with regard to fire sprinkler installation, however you may not get planning permission or approval from Building Control if your building is at risk of fire without adequate escape where life safety systems are required – this is particularly true of spaces that have the capacity for large numbers of people such as shopping centres, some industrial units and manufacturing facilities, or high rise residential blocks.
Additionally, many insurers insist on fire sprinkler installation where fire risks are high and resultant losses may be significant in the event of a fire. If you install a fire sprinkler or suppression system, your insurance premiums may be substantially reduced.
